Freedom From Sins and Sinful Tendencies

According to Vedic Teachings There are 4 pillars on which the “DHARMA” or “RELIGION” is established.
1.Truthfulness
2.Purity
3.Austerity and
4.Compassion.
When we engage ourselves in below mentioned , “SINFUL “activities then “RELIGION” is collapsed:
1.Illicit sex ----------------------breaks the pillar of PURITY
2.Intoxication------------------breaks the pillar of AUSTERITY
3.Gambling----------------------breaks the pillar of TRUTHFULNESS   and
4.Meat Eating------------------breaks the pillar of COMPASSION
In the modern civilization we all are somehow or other forced to act SINFULLY in any one or all the above mentioned SINFUL ACTIVITIES.
If the “atma” or “SOUL”  remains engrossed and absorbed in these sinful activities then he continues his material existence which constitutes repeated BIRTH , DEATH , OLD AGE AND DISEASE, due to the REACTIONS.
Therefore Ancient Vedic Texts advices to perform certain activities "PURIFICATORY process or ATTONEMENTS" , from their “KARMA kanda” section to become free from the REACTIONS of  sinful actions.
(EVERY ACTION HAS AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION)
But the irony is that, that after performing such “Purificatory processes” or "Attonements", and becoming free from REACTIONS OF SINFUL LIFE, we again continue to act SINFULLY.
The example of an elephant is very appropriate in this context. Elephant takes his bath for hours in a lake and cleans himself thoroughly but later after coming out of a lake again takes the DUST and puts back on him.
Similarly we may perform many such “Purificatory process” or "Attonements", to become free from our SINS, but again helplessly we continue to act sinfully, because of the TENDENCIES to act sinfully.

At this point we must understand that: “IGNORANCE is the cause of our sinful life”.
Therefore unless and until we become free from the IGNORANCE we will not be able to give up the TENDENCY to act sinfully.
These TENDENCIES are DEEP ROOTED into the core of our SUB-CONSCIOUSNESS,  and whenever the favorable opportunity arises they CREEP UP and forces us to act helplessly.
Just like a BAMBOO trees in the forest. You can burn out these trees by fire. The entire forest looks like deserted from above, but as it RAINS these tress again starts GROWING ,because of their DEEP roots below the ground.

Therefore in the VEDIC TEXTS of Srimad Bhagavatam 6:3:31, Srila Sukhdev Goswami gives the permanent solution to the entire problem, he says:
tasmät saìkértanaà viñëor
jagan-maìgalam aàhasäm
mahatäm api kauravya
viddhy aikäntika-niñkåtam
Translation:
Sukhdev Gosvami continued: My dear King, the chanting of the holy name of the Lord is able to uproot even the reactions of the greatest sins. Therefore the chanting of the saìkértana movement is the most auspicious activity in the entire universe. Please try to understand this so that others will take it seriously.
So from the abovementioned AUTHORITATIVE statements of Srila Sukhdev Goswami, the only PERMANENT SOLUTION to become free from SIN and SINFUL TENDENCIES is to take shelter of the Supreme Personality of GODHEAD Lord Sri Krishna through the process of Chanting His Holy names

The chanting of the holy name is so auspicious that it can free everyone from the reactions of sinful activities and its tendencies.
Therefore try to chant this MAHA MANTRA at least 108 times in a day.
Thank You.
